Default 113 tech assembly info needed

I am about to start on putting some 113's on my 85. I have an 85 shop manual but not one with the 113 info. Does anyone have the assembly info for the 88-90 lower base and heads. I know being aluminum instead of cast they have to have different torque specs etc. Any help would be great.

The head bolts are torqued to 65 ft lbs. Lower short bolts are 60 ft lbs. 45 ft lbs for the rockers if memory serves. Hopefully soneone will double check my figures as they are from memory.

Thanks for the reply Pete k. Every post I have read yo have always been there for us newbies!
Still another question to add . Can I use my current base 85 with teh 113 heads? Will the heads bolt up correctly? I know about the EGR system and I havent decided whether I am going to block it off or hook up the external system yet. I just dont want to have to pull the base if I dont have to.

Hey Rich, I just responded to your other PM. I have the shop manuals if you need them. The TPI base is a good question. I think the iron head pattern changed in 87 but I am not sure of the year. The 113's use the standard same old SBC bolt angles and they arrived in 88 so it makes sense.

If my memory serves me correctly all TPI bases on our vettes will physically bolt to the heads for model years 84 to 91.

I can hear CFI-EFI's foot steps already........

I changed the heads on my 85 and the tpi base will fit one the newer heads except the angle of the bolts on the two center bolts on each sideof base is different. I had a choice either hog out the 85 holes to make them sloppy enough so the bolts would work or find a newer style base. As luck would have it i ran into a newer base.If you put bolts in 85 youll see difference. I believe 88 and newer are all same angle.

Yeah I have an 88 base. What did you do for the 58cc chambers? What size gasket did you use? Did you keep the EGR or ditch it? Lastly what are you running for timing advance? Sorry for the questions but its good to hear that the have been some before me putting these heads on 85's.
