Default Haltech E6GMX ECU for 1985-1989 Corvette

Has anyone used the Haltech E6GMX ECU on thier 1985-1989 Corvette (I need to know if is compatible with the 4+3 Doug Nash, it does not say on their website). Is it plug and play like they say? What happens to all the gauges / dash when the new computer is added. It looks like it converts the MAF to a Speed Density and is fully programable by a laptop. It is listed on page 7 of this pdf on their website http://www.haltech.com.au/downloads/...oklet_2006.pdf It sounds like a good deal for $850, if it is a true plug and play, the dash stays completely funtional and it is fully programable.

It doesn't look like a bad deal at all. But what would concern me is that if you were to add larger injectors one day, you just can't change an injector constant for a size change. It appears that you would have to go into the base fuel maps and change all the parameters for the larger injectors. That to me would be a real pain in the gazoo. But I do like the plug and play connection. The only concern I would have is that there are some things that the factory ECM does that communicates with the digital dash, and those functions would be dead if you use the Haltech.

Has no one on the forum used this ECU? They have been out for years. I just wanted to know if it was worth trying.

I have the older model Haltech E6GM that I bought from a member here. I haven't installed it yet as I'm still trying to put together a new motor for it. I can't remember who I got it from either (at least not his screen name).

I'm surprised there aren't at least a few Haltech users, but their market share is shrinking.

I'm not sure what tjwong is refering to regarding the communication between the dash and ECM. I guess I'll find out
