Default Thermal coatings

I mentioned in a previous post that I was going to do a LT1 manifold conversion for a Gen 1 sbc. I would like to coat the bottom of the intake with a thermal barrier to keep the intake charge as cool as possible. Any recommendations on a product that works well and I could do at home?

Pete: You could check with Corvette Kid NC on this I know he said he coated his intake for the new motor but don't remember him saying who or what?

Actually, the intake bottom was already coated (about a year and a half ago) as well as the splash shield that bolts to the bottom of it. I've also had the combustion chambers coated, the valves, the exhaust ports and now in the new bottom end, the piston tops. And I had him put a low friction coating put on the skirts too. This was all done by Precision Porting & Coatings who also ported my heads and intake. I don't know about the feasibility of any DIY products, but Bob (at PP&C) said these ceramic coatings he utilizes are nearly impossible to remove once applied. They certainly all still looked good on the heads and intake when I removed them recently. I'd be curious to know how any DIY products might stack up.
