Default How High?

Been thinking about lowering my Vette. If I understand things correctly, I'll need to remove the front spring. How high does it need to be to get the front spring out?
BTW, with the 315's on the back, is this a wise move?

Short reason not to lower it: SPEED BUMPS.

Long reason: It does bad things to handling dynamics and kill what's left of the ride.

I think my crossmember was about 2 feet off the ground. Z51's have less spring arc so you may get away with less. Talk to Central Coatser, he did his Z51.

Rick, i'm just considering this while it's still in the air for this brake work.
The worst part about it is that I hafta fit in the time as available. Where you been hiding lately?

Bogus, Speed bumps are one reason why I haven't done it yet. I didn't know about the further loss of ride.

86, If CC comes in on this I'll be happy to see his advice/thoughts. But for now, I don't think I'm gonna do it. Reason? Speed bumps and further loss of ride quality.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I lowered my 85 Z51....BIG mistake. The thing rode so rough, I thought my kidneys were gonna start bleeding.

You got that right! Even tho I don't know high the car needs to be, I think the question of whether I will or not has been answered.
Looks like the, "No's," have it!

I guess I'll just have to be happy with having up to ONE MILLION HORSEPOWER*!
