Exactly what mi going to do. Guess ill run to summit tomorrow. What injectors? why Ford? Which ones?
Ford SVO seem to be a big favorite on here. I have 24 lb Accel injectors in my 86, but I haven't heard too many good things about them, but work fine for me. What type of modifications have you done to the engine? What size injectors are in now?
im not sure on the size. they are stock 350 vette injectors from an 86 unit. Engine is a stock 260hp crate engine. Nothing else. May change cam and headers in within next year, but in no hurry. I want to make sure i get a injector thats as trouble free as possible. Car is normally driven on weekends and planning on some extended trips with it soon.
another thing i didnt mention is that the regulator will hold vaccum at the vac port
With the FPR vacuum off, the psi should be about 5 psi higher (45 psi). If you looked inside and saw no signs of gas then it is probably o.k. Next I would pull the spark plugs and see if there are signs of gas and which ones. That should confirm which injector(s) are/is leaking and that is where I would start working. The Accel injectors you posted in #21 are 24 lb and should be fine though it might be a little rich. I believe stock are 22 lb, but others may disagree. From post #6 sounds like more than one injector is stuck open.
I think that narrows it down to the injectors, but I would change out the FPR anyway.
I believe the one to get is the HLY-512-501 and the FMS-M-9593-A302 injector. Ford's are direct fit and have a better quality reputation than the Accel.
Stock is a 22lb injector on 86, so you will need the adjustable regulator to turn the pressure down a bit.

This is route im going...any idea where i should set PSI?
Normal psi on a L98 is 36-42 psi. I would set it anywhere in this area. Too much may be rich and too little may be lean. Putting the car on a dyno will get you what you want. Checking spark plug is a easy way to tell if your in the ballpark.
ok..im back from Summit Racing and picked up the Holly adjustable FPR. The guy there scared me from using the FMS injectors saying that the fuel rail would have to be modified. I instead went with the Accel 23lb injectors. Hopefully they will work fine.
When i got back i disassembled my fuel rail
i popped the first injector out and a rust like, milky substance dribbled out. Im guessing that the seafoam broke loose some tank/line rust that the gasoline mixture couldnt dissolve. I took the whole rail assembly apart to give it a good cleaning. I have a feeling this is what stopped the injectors up. Another sad part of this is that i forgot i didnt have a fuel filter. That problem has also been solved. The tops of the injectors as well as the tips where in bad shape. Maybe this will now get me going again.
I think you'll be fine with the Accel injectors. One thing to do is ohm them before install. Should read about 16 ohm +/- one or two. Just replacing the injectors isn't all that hard. Make sure you have the injector clips on to prevent taking it back apart later and it would be a good idea to get new fuel o-rings for the feed and return lines where you have to disconnect, to prevent leaks later (brown o-rings for gas). The injectors should have come with o-rings and just put a little oil on them and they should press in pretty smoothly. Yes, damn I forgot to tell you to get a fuel filter. I would also get some of the gas, if not all, out of the line prior to install. Good luck.
