Just as I hit the brakes from 55mph my pedal stayed up, not allowing me to depress it, and I heard something like a vacuum leak under the dash.
After finally stopping I seem to think it is the power booster that is gone out. I can push the pedal down only with a couple hundred pounds of pressure.
ANY IDEAS, ANYBODY ELSE EXPERIENCE THIS ?????
I have not checked anything as of yet, I will wait until morning or saturday to dig in and fix it.
CROOZN
If pedal stays up and hard to depress, and you heard vacuum leak, thats what it is power booster. If pedel leaks down like at idle it is probable the master cylinder. But make sure you check at all wheel cylinders for leaks also.
Good luck
Hey CROOZN I just replaced my pwr booster (had same problem) good news is you don't have to crack any lines on the master cylinder so no bleeding. I did mine in the morning and still made it to work on time (about 2 hours to R&R).
