have 85 vet would like to change gears but still want top end 3.75/3.54 what to do have dana 36 stock in put

3.54's are still steep for a stock 85' assuming its stock or near it. stay away from 3.73/3.75 ratios unless you have a TPI made to breath at higher r's. 3.07's are your best bet for performance and top end.

TPI doesnt need that much gear, especially with an automatic.

Start thinking about more extensive engine mods that allow it to breathe on the top end.
