Drag suspension

Second, a stock Corvette drag races very well. The newer the car gets(in generations) the less apt it is at drag racing.
It's a sports car, sports cars are not usually good drag race machines, but the C4 does a very good job of it. WIth a Corvette, you can have a car that does it all, it may not shine in one particular area, but it can do it all. You can show it, drag it, road race it, commute to work, make it a daily driver, all in one package.
Some guys here want a dedicated drag machine, sometimes it's cheaper to convert what you have rather than buy another car.
I bought another car just for drag racing and I was going to buy a Camaro until it was pointed out that racing the Corvette Challenge would not be possible, and on the days when we have dual events, I wouldn't be able to bring both cars, so Corvette it was.
Putting a solid axle into a Corvette doesn't make it any less a Corvette. The Corvette had a solid axle from 1953-1962, and they had non hideaway headlights.
Here's a solid axle vette that isn't original anymore, but it's still a vette

you can go 9s with a Dana 44, you just need jeb to put his magic touch .
