LH headlight removal question

LH headlight removal question
Help! I started to remove the drivers side headlight assembly to rebuild the motor. I removed all the nuts and screws as desribed in corvette magazine, but I ran into a snag. There is a small bracket attached to the one stud for the headlight and it's also attached to another bracket. I loosened the bracket to take it off, but both studs won't aloow me to remove it. Must I remove some other bracket that will allow me to remove the headlight assembly.

I did this same fix on my Vette and didn't get any snags. I would be able to help if you had a picture of what your describing so I can look at mine and coordinate back. If you can post a pic do so!

I can't post attachments because I'm just a junior member. The bracket in question is a cupped shaped bracket with a stud. The stud goes through the hood hinge bracket and over the stud coming from the hood bracket. I hope I don't have to remove the hood hinge bracket. Can you look and see if you did this? My car is a 89 coupe.
