Default AC O-rings

anyone know if these are special material or are they just rubber? I'm looking into changing mine before I recharge the system.

also if anyone has done this is it very hard & where can you buy these besides a dealership. They want $7 a piece for one size that I need 5 of, the other 3 are about $5 total.

I think the material is called 'vitron', but that is purely from my somewhat faulty memory. Not all 0-rings are compatible with the synthetic compressor oils used in r134 systems. Better check and be sure first.

You need to use HBNR O-rings. Read these links, it will tell you ever thing you need to know about O-rings.
Since you have a 93 (like me) I have a procedure about 75% complete and I need a guinea pig to proof it for me.... If you want to be the guinea pig, then PM your email address and I'll send it to you. It's in a MS Word format. You need to get MT-2541 from Autozone. It will have every ring you need, cost about $3.50

"Santech has chosen to supply Green HNBR for all U.S. applications of automotive air conditioning o-rings. Santech HNBR is a high temperature material and is compatible with R12, R134a, Mineral Oil, PAG Oil, and Ester. Green was the most widely used color for HNBR and was chosen as the standard Santech color."

if I'm reading this right the MT-2541 kit can be used with r-12, which means I can replace my o rings & then refill the r-12.
Going to attempt this early in the morning before the temp heats up..
