85 with later model headlight conversion. I just noticed one of my headlight motors continue to run for a few seconds after the assembly has fully raised or lowered. It looks like the motor is trying to cycle back and forth for some reason, but the headlight remains in the proper position. It has never failed to raise or lower. Am I destined to have a one eyed car? What should I do about it? Thanks!
My '86 would go down but not up. Took it apart cleaned and lubed it with no lue. Sent it to corvette cental for rebuild no more problems. Expect to replace it in the future they usually don't fix themselves. Part of the joy of pop up head lights.
The Delrin bushings are going on the light. You can order them at Eckler's Corvette America etc. They cost about $5.00 Enclosed you will find a link that will walk you through fixing them. Might as well do both lights at once, because once you fix one the other one will go.

My car has the 88 and later headlight conversion, so I guess it would have the delrin bushings. I'm not really sure why that would make the motor run back and forth, but I will give it a try.
Replaced bushings with new ones from Eckler's, and the headlights work great!! The kit is now 5.99 for each motor now, so they went up a little bit. Thanks for the good advice!
