Default Brake Problems/ Sticking brakes

Need help with a brake problem.
92 vert with 40k miles. When I first start the car , the brake pedal will depress about half way down and make creaking noises. After driving for a while the pedal becomes stiffer and has very little travel. Yesterday this happened and it felt as is the brakes were stuck on with no pedal. The car would stop from low speeds without pressing the brake pedal. After about 2 miles I could feel a loss of power and heard growling from the rear. I stopped after 4 miles and felt the rims. The fronts were warm but the backs were to hot to touch. After 2 hours of sitting, the the original feel(pedal about half way) came back. I drove it home ~12 miles on the freeway and noticed the pedal started to stiffen again. I checked the postings here and it sounds like my booster is bad. Any Help is appreciated
Rick

Sounds like your emergency brake is not fully releasing.

It sure does sound like the booster is related to the problem and possibly doing some strange things. Remove the master bolts but don't disconnect the fluid lines, just pull it back so you can get a look at the actuator rod. Check the pedal, it should have some resistance moving it. Then start the car and push the pedal, it should go real easy with a whoosh (vacuum usage). If you shut the engine off you should be able to do this about 3 times till it gets stiff again, this is normal.

I would also try shorting the actuator rod a bit, maybe 1 turn of the nut (sensitive adjustment). If the rod is to long it could be depressing on the master piston and applying a slight amount of brakes causing them to drag.
