Default here's a different one.

92 coupe. Can't figure this one out. Brakes are fine with good pedal and no pull so calipers are good. Pads are relatively new. Parking brake goes on and releases fine.
After driving the car maybe 30 minutes or so and pulling up to stop light or sign the car will not roll on its own. Somethings binding. It takes a bit more clutch to get it moving also. Its not bad but it is binding and it appears to be heat expansion related. Of course I can't test it static because the car needs to be driven distance in order for it to do it.
Any thoughts? Anyone else having or had this issue. I can't see anything in the suspension ( ie U joints and half shafts) binding under heat expansion. There's no noise except a mild clicking from the shafts which I'm assuming is only the inner half shaft washer. I don't know if that would cause this problem. Kinda stumped on this one.

Pat.

It sounds like it could be the... very expensive, very labor intensive... wheel bearings.

Or maybe the pinion bearings, or something to do with the differential/carrier (oh joy--even 'better'!).

Default Could very well be brake caliper piston.

I once had a caliper piston stick in my jeep wagoneer I think it was. Take a gallon of water with you and when it gets to "no-roll" cool it down with water and see if it works again. Otherwise take off caliper and check it out. I had to borrow a home owners hose to cool mine down and get the car home, so a gallon might not cut it.

Do you still have a bit of clearance in the M/C push rod when this happens?

How about this one.

I had a local stereo shop install a alarm system for me way back in 92.

I drove about 3 miles from the shop and could feel the car slowing down considerably.

Turned out they had a renegade wire looped around the brakle pedal, not enough for the brake lights to come on but enough to pull vacuum. Over the course of driving a short distance it slowed me to where I thought there was a power loss.

I realized it later when I was inspecting the shops work.

Unlooping and tucking away the wire everything turned out fine.

Guess she's going on the jack stands this week. I don't expect it to do it static but I'll give it the going over. It appears to be a rear bind not the front. I replaced the front pads in the spring but maybe it is a caliper bind in the rear.
