I'm experiencing an intermittent stall/hesitation when under hard acceleration on my 88 Coupe. I feel like it could be a bad wire connection, since the fuel pressure is good (under load) and the plugs, wires, and filters are new. It does occur more often when cold vs. hot, and in left or right turns as well as straight line. Has anyone seen this before, or have and advise?
Make sure the plug wires are on good. Does it do this when reved in park? Does the service engine soon light come on? You have ruled out fuel as a problem I assume. You may want to have the ignition module tested and ohm the pickup coil. Others will give advise as well.
I've been through Daphne many times.

I've checked most everything I can think of. Coil, dist, cap and rotor. She runs fine most of the time, and then the quick one shot hesitation, only under heavy load. I just fixed a code 36 for the burn off relay, but have no other codes. I'm stumped!
The best way to tell what the problem is...is to run the car on a scan tool and see what happens when it stalls/hesitates. May be the MAF sending the wrong signal, but not bad enough for the ECM to throw a code. Take a look at the wires in the MAF for debris.
.....this sounds a bit like what i was going through and it turned out to be the start of a failing fuel pump.....maybe you can get something out of the following post.....
