Default Engine Update

Original post is here: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1481035

The engine is now painted black and all the intake pieces have been media-blasted. I went with a set of cheap Mr. Gasket chrome valve covers as the originals were toast. I also ordered headers after weighing all the advice from you guys and other local Vette guys. I went with coated Hedman Elites and I will be the first to admit it if they suck. My heads are back after some minor part- replacement/tweaking as well as a major cleaning. The heads have put the longblock cost right at $2000 including all gaskets. I still have to buy a water-pump, some hoses and all the miscellaneous junk. I just wanted to share the happiness. Ben

I forgot to get pics last weekend, so I'll make sure to get some this weekend. We should get a lot done with the extra day off!

Good goin'!!! Yes, do post some pics. It should be all worthwhile. But the real test, of course, will be that first startup and that first back-out.

Good luck!

I'm trying to get all the little stuff thought out as that will be the most time-consuming. I don't know how to tune, or set the TV cable or any of that stuff, so it will be baby-steps for a while. My friend is doing a lot of the work, but he also has a bunch of side-jobs and stuff, so it is slow-going. I've also collected some interior stuff and will be trying a carbon-fiber dash look. If that sucks too, you will definitely hear about it...
