what does the dash sensor do on an 1990 non zr1 mine was missing when i got it i have one now i have to pull the dash to put in in just worning if it was worth it

What's the location of the sensor your referring to?

It's an ambient light sensor. In high ambient light (like daytime) the interior lights stay off when door is opened.

its on the dash in the defrost vent by the windshield

That's your Sun load temp sensor.It's works with the a/c (electronic) to determine a/c needs.etc.

To remove, ( grille) pry up on the rear of the grille with a small flat screwdriver. Their are a couple of tabs holding it. Be careful, the plastic is probably brittle from sitting in the sun for all these years. There's an electrical connector you have to remove & the sensor is removed, quarter turn to the left.
