Can anyone point me to the right direction as to what to use for the throtttle hook up to a ELDELBROCK TBI. We have a 87' that we are dropping a 89' Engine in and we just got the new TB out of the box and the accelerator linkage is different. It is one for a 89' and our linkage is an 87'. The vendor we bought it from won't accept return over 30days and I hate to buy a new one. I want to get this fired up over the weekend to get it debugged before we go to MID AMERICA FUNFEST
Also I forgot to mention that the TPS conector is different it is a small four prong connector 2 on top 2 below. Where as the original is a straight Vertical connector with 4 pins. All I think I need to do is figure out which wire goes where? Again Thanks WRO87

Are you installing an Edelbrock, two or four barrel TBI (Throttle Body Injection) where a TPI (Tuned Port Injection) once was? Let's be sure of the project before I give misleading advice.
Sorry about that you are correct. It is a Edlebrock 58mm throttle body that will fit the plenum for a L98. The linkage all seems fine but where the cable hooks up the 87 has a pin connector that clips on where as the one for the 89 has a cable that fits in a groove and rolls the throttle open, Also you guys are right I got the hook up for the IAC mixed up with the TPS. The IAC are the same. The 87' TPS has a vertical 3pin connector where as the 89' has a round 3pin connector is there a big deal here just make sure that ther color code of the connectors is the same? STill trying to figure out the cable? Thanks wro
That TB is too large and your car is gonna feel like a dog with it.
I wouldnt install that unless youre installing a highly modified 383 or 400+ ci engine.
And if you must have an aftermarket TB,get the correct one for the car's year. You said they wont take it back, what about exchange?
Youre also gonna have to set the minimum idle speed, tps and etc with the new TB.If you never did it before on another TB unit, then its going to be a bit tricky to get it right.
If you ask me,leave the stock TB alone and go enjoy the Fun Fest and etc.Been there before, was alot of people and of course,Vettes there.
