Hmmmm.... did you mess with your ECT sensor? If you replaced it or knocked the connector it could be reading slightly different. You are going by the digital temp, right?

Only 2 thoughts for now:

Air in system - try packing - think this is most likely.

Flush disturbed crud that effected temp sensor (either ECM temp sensor or dash temp sensor).

Only way to determine turn on temp is to use a scanner to see what temp the ECM thinks the car is running. The ECM and dash sensors are in different locations on the engine and will never match.

Good Luck,

Pete

Hmm.. well, like I said, I'm not sure about the L98, but look around the waterpump area... or if you have a Hanes or Chiltons manual you should be able to find it in there.

On a stock 35th the ECM controls the main fan turn on temp - the ECM temp sensor is located below the throttle body in front of the engine.

The digi-dash uses it's own temp sensor for water temp located on the passenger side of the engine just above the starter.

If you have the aux fan it uses it's own temperature sensor (switch) located bewteen plugs 1 and 3 on the drivers side head.

Good Luck and let us know what you find. Still bet it's air.
