While browsing my engine compartment, I discovered that the air injection reaction pump had been disconnnected, and a 25 amp fuse was cramed into one end of the connection. I am bothered by this, because I am the original owner of this car, and this must have been done by one of my mechanics.
I have reconnected the device, but I am not sure what it does. Can anyone clue me in? Maybe my mechanic was doing me a favor and I should put it back the way it was?
I will just go on to say that the pump should time out. I think it should run no longer than 240 seconds if I remember right. Make sure it shuts down, maybe this is the problem...or not.
Mine has been disconnected for a couple years, actually completely removed (got a pulley elim kit)... never had any issues with it off, never had any check lights on either from it.
