Default mild cam installation

I need some advice. I'm planning on installing a mild cam to my 85 vette. I got headers with 2 1/2 " pipes straight to the back , no catalitic, flowmasters, 24 pds. injectors, k&N with open lid filter, power chip. What will be the right application for a mild cam, do I need to replace valve springs, lifters ? I just refurbished the heads. Any feedback ?

Thx.

Just be sure your springs are capable of .470 lift. I have this cam/lifters in my super rammed 355 and it is a nice steet cam.
You will need new lifters with any flat tappet cam change.

Here is the cam I ordered for the 383 I built for my 72 3/4 truck. I was told it was a good match for my ported factory heads, and a TPI that I'm considering running. It may require a little more spring than the 262 Comp though. That said, there's nothing wrong with the 262 Comp either.

LPE/Accel 74212 would be a fine choice for a TPI motor with hyd. flat tappet.

Anything more would be a waste of the cam's potential.

If you want it to lope, consider the 110 lsa (carb) version of the Comp 262 previously mentioned.

Tighter LSA means more overlap. Expect tuning issues and some torque loss below 2500 rpm.

I would also consider Comps extreme 4x4 line, relatively low lift, long duration and 111 LSA.
