Default TPS Settings

Does any one now what the optimum setting would be for a TPS on a 58MM throttle body would be we have this on a 89'L98 (that has been built up a little) that we have installed in a 87' roadster. Thanks wro87

Regardless of the fact that it's an aftermarket TB, the values would still be within the ranges listed in the factory manual for your particular car.

The ECM see the voltage the TPS is set at and it shouldn't matter when the TB is changed. I should be around .54v at closed throtte and at least over 4.0v WOT with a smooth increase in voltage as the throttle plates are slowly opened.

It sounds as if it's close to the values of the LTx engines then. .3-.9v at idle and about 4.5v (I believe) minimum with closer to 5v being ideal. If you have a scanner and it shows 0 at idle and 100% at WOT, you should be good.

Your particular L98 ECM wants ~0.54V at idle and over 3.45V at full throttle. The stock ECM program dictate that over 69% of reference line voltage (which is 5.00V) is considered WOT.

Thanks guys I wasn't real sure if it was the same! I have had the ecm reprogrammed and will hook up a volt meter then will try a scanner. wro87
