For those of you that want to see what a new C6 Z06 does on a dyno here is a dyno sheet from today. I have a customers new C6 Z06 in for heads, cam and headers. We ran a baseline dyno test on the car today.
I drove the car on a short 3 mile drive and all I can say is " I want one!" The car is totally amazing, it drives so well and the engine is so docile that my mom can easily drive this car.
Interesting. I would have thought Mustang dynoes read lower. The dyno I went to I pulled similar #s with my lil 388 (higher ) and on that SAME dyno ( a mustang dyno ), a c6 z06 pulled 414 rwhp a week before. I was under the impression that all the c6z #s at around 430-450 rwhp on dynojets. Super #s though.
What kinda heads do you use to upgrade a new Z06? Dont the factory pieces flow like 380 or something? I would think that could support something like 700 HP.

btw Tommy, EVERYONE wants a new z06
The heads we will be using will be modified GM units from LG Motorsports. I am installing their complete package on the car. I could have went with their 620hp cam but chose to stay with the smaller cam for drivability and reliability issues. I am anxious to see what this car will do after the mods. I was amazed at how "quiet" the car was even at WOT when that exhast port at the rear was open it was just a muffled roar during the test.
After driving the car I found myself thinking of ways I could buy one of these things like......hmmm put my car back to stock with the OE LT1 that has 1200 miles on it, freshen up the blower engine that is in the car now, sell it, sell the new blower engine at the machine shop now, sell two LTx Vortech blower kits...... and sell my gun collection????? No way thats asking too much We video'd the dyno test and one of the guys will be hosting it shortly.
I saw one with headers, the stock exhaust from there back, and zero other mods lay down 495 RWHP/485 RWTQ on a dyno jet 240C. I dyno'd my car the same day and duplicated the numbers I made about a year ago on another dyno jet within 1 HP, so I think it was pretty accurate as far as dyno jets go. Amazing car for sure.

Well I have another C6 Z06 coming in from British Columbia for headers, and a Corsa Cat back system and for a dyno tune. I will be posting those results as well after the car is done. They are due to arrive a week from today.
Tom someone posted in my 13.1 afr post in c4 scan and tune and said running too lean will shorten exhaust valve life. I can understand why as the exhaust temps will be even greater. I posted a response saying maybe because of the Ti' valves GM had the car run rich for durability concerns ? it seems the c6z owners are pulling 30-40 rwhp out of tunes by leaning them out considerably. Can this possibly be a no-no with those valves ?

Thats very possible. I typically target 12.5:1 on a normally aspirated engine. Getting to 13+ to me isn't worth the risks for a <10hp gains by going leaner. Besides that other than bragging rights, I seriously doubt one could even feel the difference, unless you are running the car at the track and need every available pony to win a race.
i thought the C6 ZO6 pulled like 510hp ? could've sworn i read that in MotorTrend or AutoWeek. is that the engine power itself or flywheel ? or is that number just completely off ?
EDIT: pulled up a nifty site i use alot Z06 Specs that says 505hp as well. what gives ? and oh yea...hi all :-P new member to the board
