Default Crossover Location?

I am installing TPI'S headers on my '87 automatic. I am also installing Power Effects Mufflers. There will be no cats. My car is presently having engine work done on it. I also want to install a Dr. Gas crossover pipe. Boyd at Dr. Gas wants to know if the crossover will go before or after the tranny. He also wants to know if the section of the crossover pipe that connects to the headers needs to be at a 45 degree angle, or if it needs to be straight. My problem is that I do not have the auto in order to do the measuring. I want to install headers, exhaust and crossover pipe at the same time. I do not want to install headers, exhaust, and then have a gap where the crossover goes, only having to measure and then order and wait for the crossover pipe to arrive. Anyone have this setup that can be of some help? PE told me that from center point to center point on the exhaust pipes is 3 1/8 ". They are each 2 3/4 " in diameter . The diameter of the exhaust pipe for the headers is 3". Thanks

Default Re: Crossover Location? (codyusa)

The crossover should as close to the muffler inlets as possible.
