Default ECM Change Issue

I just replaced my ECM. My INST. Fuel mileage indicator now seems to change values faster, to lag changes in the engine speed/load, and to indicate far greater mileage.

The new ECM is the same service number as the old one (16159278) but tag said 1992 while my car is a 93.

Is this correctable?

Thanks in advance!!

Did you keep the chip from your old ECM and put it in the new one?

Yes, I installed the PROM from my old ECM into the new unit. Apears to run great with no DIC codes.

If you're speaking of the MPG average, it'll change more frequently when first reset. But the longer it goes, the more it will even out and changes will occur less frequently.
