What size wrench actually fits the bleeders? I have tried a10mm but it feels loose and I have stripped two off trying it.
Thanks,
Steve
I have a 92 if that helps.
10mm is the correct size. It does feels slightly loose when I use an open end on it but I never do to open it. I always open it initially with a 10mm socket or a 10mm flare wrench.
When I do the bleeding I do use the open end till I am finished and do tighten it with the open end. I don't over tighten it either but give it a good tightening. After that I use the socket to re-open it again. This really keeps the bleeder in good shape. At this point you should go get some new bleeders and start fresh.
I think Aardwolf makes a very important point.....use a 10 mm six point socket to both open and close the bleeder screw. Using this type tool does not tend to "booger" the hex flats on the screw. My experience!
