Fog Lamps

On my '84 the fog lamps only can be on when the head lamps are on. I would like to run the fogs without the headlights up and on. Anyone ever rewire to accomplish this and if so was it a project or rather simple? Can anybody supply instructions?

Don't know if my 86 is different than 84, but i only have to pull the light switch to the running light position and then turn the fog light switch on.

If you mean you want the fog lights to be on when you use your high beams then all you have to do is run a seperate ground wire for each fog lamp.

Not exactly right. Depending on the year, it requires further mods to wiring.

1984 Fog lamps

I changed my fog lamps so they would come on when I turned on the fog light switch to the right of the headlight ****. It required removal of the dash pad in order to ge to the wiring but it was worth the effort. I also changed the bulbs so that they are brighter. I can now run just the fog lights at certain times and they light up the road as well as the headlights.

I am currently in Charlotte and will not be back home for a week but if you want to send me your address, I will mail the info to you about how to do all of this. If you have any mecanical ability, you will be able to do it. My email address is tombobb@verizon.net.
