Greetings,
I just got my first corvette and now its on the road. I got an SES light for 33 and 45. I down loaded the code 33 troubleshoot from another member and I was wondering if anyone has the 45 troubleshoot available? Agent 69?
Oh, its a 1987 4+3 black with gray interior. It needs alot of attention but it runs and drives
Also does anyone have the part numbers for the MAF Power Relay and MAF Sensor Burn-off Relay?
Sorry mate i dont have the numbers for the relays, they are both the same part though.
DTC 45 is a rich exhaust present.
Clear the codes out and see what comes back when you drive again, and if youve allready done this i would start with the DTC 33 and then clear codes again, just to see if it may have been causing the DTC 45.
I replaced the cap and rotor that were nasty ! I also replaced the burn-off relay. I just picked up a second one to replace the power relay. I also got spark plug wires just for kicks. I get a slight bucking at low RPM's but what do expect from a almost 20 year old car with 93K miles. I'm also doing the TPS, IAC, and all the gaskets on the Throttle body. The idle jumps around alot sometimes and I think its the IAC or TPS. Will keep you posted.
P.S. - I also noticed the wire mess is missing. I have the Bosch MAF.

Well last night I took apart my throttle body to clean and replace the TPS and IAC and one of the screws that holds the bottom IAC plate to throttle body broke. I dropped off the TB at a machine shop with hopes he can drill and tap out the broken screw. What luck, it was the last damn screw as always! The worst part is I had to commute with the GF in her Sentra, slow POS! Well hopefully I have good news Monday .
Also how do I set the TPS and IAC on the throttle body?
Thanks!
There prettey easy...take a look at Vaders site, I think he has a step by step for you. On your TPS its very simple..turn key to ON, but don't start the engine you want to read the voltage at the TPS, with throttle close it should read 0.54 volts +/- 0.07 volts, you slowly open the throttle to wide open, it should read over 4 volts. Do you have a FSM?
I don't have a FSM but Agent 69 has posted a lot of helpful information. Please send me a link to vader's website. On the TPS measurement, where do you pull the voltage from? I see the wires, but where do you measure the voltage?
Thanks
Im still getting a code 45. I think the o2 sensor is new but I could be wrong. Will this play games with my idle? Also I discovered I have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Does anyone know what the pressure is suppose to be? I'm also going through about 2 quarts of oil every 3000 miles is this normal? I get smoke out the tail pipes some times. I've done the IAC the TPS and cleaned the throttle body. I hope I don't have to tear this engine apart. What is the compression values for my engine. Any help will be great!
