Default C4 Wheels

Jake, if you are satisfied with the reason why there are different size wheels on the front and the back, I can tell where you can still find almost any wheel sets in both sizes. Go to Google and type in factoryreproductions and go up their website. They are about the only people I know of now that still make the 8.5" wheels for the front. They have the chrome ZR1's, silver ZR1's, black ZR1's, the 2000's and I think the Z06's in a 8.5". I just am not comfortable with a 8.5" in the front. It seems mighty close to me. Their price is not bad either.

Thanks for all the info, guys.

I followed your directions and went to the Factory Reproduction site and found some Z06 chrome wheels that I can get in sizes 8.5" front and 9.5" rear. I prefer the look of the Z06 wheels over the ZR1s.

I'll call them tomorrow and see what they'll cost me.

Jake

Sure you can't rotate them, but I haven't found that to be a problem.
Do you have any pix of the 315s on the rear? How far do they stick out?

On my 94 coupe I'm running 285s on 9.5" Collector Edition Rims on all four corners. The larger wheel tire combination fits and drives fine.

I had a seeking and darting to some degree with the stock sawblades which were the smaller front wheel and tire and the 9.5" rear on some road conditions.

The standard 91-96 came with 8.5fnt 9.5back but if you have the z07 suspension package you have 9.5s on all four corners, im not sure ifts teh same way with fx3, mine has both the fx3 and z07 and it has 275s front and rear

started running lower air pressure some tire store jockey told me low profile tires need to run high psi

Generally anytime you go to a lower section tire your ride comfort will decrease because you have less sidewall to give.
Conversly your handling will improve because there is less sidewall distortion when cornering

but the 96 GS Z51´s had 11" and 9,5" rims, so not all 96 Z51

i don't understand this business of lane dartiness, the steering wheel coming out of your hands.

i've got the same size all around, naturally, since i've got a '90.

and i don't have this problem that is being talked about. what gives?

in any event, even if mine did sufffer from those issues, i would rather be able to rotate the tires and enjoy the the cost avoidance of buying new rear tires more often; i agree with JAKE that would be a bummer imho.

Are the 315's sticking out any or did you have to add the GS flares?

C6 MS wheels are the way to go

I have that darty problem bigtime with the stock tires/wheels on my 95.. but I also drive over very uneven roads.
