the best advice in mods is what is your goal? there are diffrent mods neccesary for a goal of 4,5,6,7,8 hundred hp. further dose the car need to be streetable ergo are you going to use the power brakes, do you care if it idles like poo at 2k and frequently dies at stoplights. are you going to race it if so what kind SCCA, drag, illegal street? all these things play into what mods you should do so that you don't spend money on things you are going to latter replace to achive your goal and trying to sell used performance parts is like trying to sell used comdoms.
If you're looking for bang for the buck mods leave the stock exhaust alone and put your money into Lt headers & cats. This will improve your torq and the sound of your Vette. The stock exhaust is considered to be non restrictive up to 400 hp.
While doing nothing other than buying a complete catback exhaust system will most definately change the sound of your car it will not, on it's own, give you the performance improvement that LTs will without a change in your stock LT4 exhaust.
Folks have run 10" wide wheels on the front when on a road course but for the street that is unnessarily wide and it just makes things more difficult when driving in the rain. I've got 275 40 17s on 9.5" stock wheels on all 4 corners as that's how my 95 came with the FX3 option. I've considered buying a pair of 8.5" for the front because they wander less in the truck ruts on the hiway.
Just my $0.02
