Yes you should change your valve springs
(no one seems to have noticed that has been said allready!!)
The stock springs are about all that is stopping you from revving past 5,850 rpm. Change the springs and youre good for 1.6:1 RRs and also more revs. You can reuse the stock springs if ya like, after all, you own the car.
Per someone's recomendation I looked on the "Jegs" web site under cams and valve train items. Still do not see a specific part number for 1992 LT1 valve springs , and with all the choices for rocker arms , which are best? so hear are my question to all you engine techs out there
1.rocker arms(roller tip or aluminum)?
2. brand(pro-form , harland sharp , edelbrock , crane , comp-cams)?
3. ratio(1.52 or1.6)?
4. will all this fit under my stock valve covers?
5. rocker adjustment (zero lash or 1/4 turn)? no guess here please

1/2. My preference is the full roller rocker arms, Comp Cams Pro Magnums or Crane Golds.
3. 1.6 ratio
4. No, not without cutting/grinding.
5. With stock hydraulic lifters you can go anywhere from 1/4 to a full turn past zero lash, I go 1/2 turn.
Yesterady I ordered a set of Comp 1.6 Pro Mags from Thunder Racing. Thunder is a Corvette forum supporting vendor, and they will meet Jegs price. The Thunder staff also has more experience with LT1 specific parts, and could give better tech advice on your valve springs.
thanks for the info , how about a spring recomendation?
thanks Desert
The LT4 springs are cheap and will work for your application. But, if you ever plan a cam upgrade, you should look into Comp Cams beehives, or Crane's H-11 tool steel springs.
1.6 full roller your choice of brands and materials. The LT4 springs are what some recommend. Suggest you read some articles on RR's.
I did lots of research before going with LT4 springs and GMPP 1.6RR. If you run LT-1 springs with 1.6RR you are at the ragged edge of coil binding them. We measured the height my LT-1 springs would bind and we were well into the "unsafe" zone.
LT-4 springs were a perfect match. Slightly more seat pressure, about the same nose pressure, and a good margin before coil bind. So buy yourself a set of LT-4 springs with new shims, retainers and locks.
