The L98 and ZR1 were the only engines offered in 1990.

You had an L-98 if you were anything but a ZR-1, then you had the DOHC LT-5.

ZR1 is a whole car option package, like the Z28. The ZR1 package includes the LT5 engine, like a Z28 of certain years may use a specific engine.

RACE ON!!!

You tell us. Does it run good enough for you? If not, I guess it is a turd.
I was very pleased with my 87 l-98 when it was stock. I like it better now though.

Damn, I thought I was a young gun at 25.

It's real easy to tell apart an L98 from the legendary LT5

I love that torque. The L98 is a great platform to work with. Enjoy it

Your car is a cool car and not a turd. You need to read a little bit about engine building and what the specific advantages of the L98 engine were. Peak HP is not the be-all-end-all. Not only that but the L98 engine is a really nice looking engine

Fill out your profile so we know where ya live because whenever you need help with your vette this is the first place you should come to. Lots of friendly people here who enjoy helping others get started.

Learn to drive & maintain your car properly. Believe me very few 16 yr olds get to own a vette

I was 17 when I got my first Corvette (91 coupe). Found out the hard way that it did ~140 mph before I flew off the road. I don't suggest driving that fast unless you are at the right location with people near by.

Yeah, I had to wait until I was 19

Seriously though, you won't want to hear this, but everyone's gonna tell you. The stock vette is more than you can handle if you try to drive it to the limits. I'm only 21 now, and before my first vette I had driven plenty of rear-wheel drive V8 cars. First thing I did in the vette? Spun it off a turn in a light rain. The car will go 150, but that's a VERY bad idea, especially since you just got it and haven't had time to figure out anything the last owner may have done wrong on it. Drive it stock until you get the hang of it. Then, if you're gonna modify it do it yourself. That way you'll be invested in the car and you won't go show it off right into a tree when it's faster. C4s are great cars, and I'm sure you'll have fun.
