Basically your answer is yes. Corvette LT1 blocks are 4 bolt mains and Camaro were 2 bolt.
I've been speaking to a manufacturer to produce an aluminum LTx block for some time now. We're working out details on a prototype block that I may have by the end of the year .. and its aluminum
2)5.7L 2bolt caps (F & B bodies) There are 2 different versions of this engine F bodies have Alum heads and big cam(LT1 275hp). The B bodies have cast iron heads and smaller cam(LPO9 260hp).
3)4.3L 2bolt caps (B body)You don't want one of these under any circumstances they are useless.

are they BIG BORE by any chance? I'd put myself down for one, even in cast iron. a 427+LTX would rock!
The blocks all have the same casting numbers. The only way to tell if it's 2 bolt or 4 bolt is to look. The 2 bolt is still good for 400 HP plus.
the 2 bolt block has one advantage . It can be drilled for a splayed 4 bolt main cap like the ones from Moroso whare as those of us with corvette blocks have to settle for the parallel 4 bolt. Although I doubt that the splayed design has much advanage for a street car

I think they're about 175 lbs. if I remember right. Anyhow, it has to be shipped freight. I know about what it costs because I had one shipped to me from out your way. We used Forward Air, they're very reasonable. The block is out of a 34K mile car and has never been bored or otherwise modified. The price is $400 plus shipping. These Vette blocks can sometimes be difficult to run across. It took me a while to find one. Like you, I wanted to do my build ahead of time to minimize downtime.

O'Rily I'd love to see (and get) an aluminum LTx block w/ a bigger bore option...I'd assume they'd sell well, if priced similar to the LSx motors...keep us posted
