Actually, I believe it won't be a whole lot different than the stock cam.

Other than the slightly extended exhaust duration it seems to be really mild and the valve lift is nothing to write home about.

Those specs are pretty close to the stock LT1 and LT4 cams, but the Lunati doesn't have quite as much valve lift.

If you're looking for a nice performance boost, start looking in the area just above 210 @ .050.

Cams with 20x @ .050 are stock-type stuff.

Just my thoughts.

Jake

I'm running a Comp Cams Extreem Energy XE262H in my 86. With longtubes it ran a best 13.5 with 13.6 all day long. Going to get a custom tune and hopefully improve those times and clean up the idle some.

A nice cam and works with the stock set up very well. Its stock computer
friendly but every TPI with a mild cam and work can always benefit from a custom tune. There IS a difference in the way the midrange power band pulls over stock,it pulls harder and keeps going.

Heres a link I found directly for it.I put this same cam in the L98 once and it ran great..it had a somewhat lopey idle(with exhaust mods) that a few people came up to me and asked me if there was a cam in there and said it sounded like it had something in it...usually gear heads notice it more than your average Joe...just another better than stock cam grind to consider, but I do hear the LPE spec grinds for the TPI are even better.

I like the profiles on the Lunati 256 Voodoo. Should work well with TPI and pass smog no problem. Reed makes a nice one also, very similar #'s, just a little more lift.

A recommendation from Reed...

210/217 @ .050, .470/.480 lift, 112 lobe center.
reedcams@mindspring.com

These are flat tappets, by the way. Kind of smallish but should work well with the TPI system with minimal tuning.

Harvey Crane, in an interview that appeared in one of the magazines, even - himself - admitted that CompCams is the best cam company.

What higher recommendation could there be, when you consider the excellent products and reputation that Crane has.

Problem is Comp has different companies making cams for them, they have become a giant. I hope quality control is as high a priority as sales #s are there.

I have used Comp before, but in general I like to patronize the smaller companies.
