I know that the distributor has the tach plug on it, and that's what ultimatelly feeds the dash tach, IS there something along the way that might alter the signal?
On my 91, it 'idles' at ~1300 on the dash tach, and it shifts at about 9000, according to the dash tach, IF it went that high! lol
The needle literally hits the stop on the far right, WELL past 6k!
What could be causing the tach being so far off? My LCDs are bad on my display, so I'm replacing my dash cluster anyway, and I'm hoping that my issue will be cured with the new cluster.
Any thoughts?
The tach filter is inline with the white wire coming from the distrubitor. It may be grounded in a different location but look on the right side bell housing.
This is just a pic of what it looks like...bottom right.
Thanks!
I'll give it a look this weekend. That link you provided only mentioned up to 89, I assume my 91 has one also, just a different style that isn't the same PN/application as the one -89?
Thanks again!
