The guy doing the body repairs on my Silverado has a 89 C4. He said that sometimes when he goes over a bump, the security light will illuminate on the dash and then the car will stall out? The car will restart, but he says this is becoming a pain in the as s. Has any one else experienced this with your C4's and know what the problem could possibly be?????? Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. :yesnod:

Hmm.... well the security light will come on if the side doors are opened. So possibly the white door jam switches are on their way out, or need readjustment. I don't know why it would cause the car to stall out though.
sounds like there is a faulty connection at the ecm. make sure the wiring harness is plugged into the computer firmly. also could be a faulty computer.
I thought it might be a bad ground or something like that. Wouldn't the security system prevent some one from starting the car? So maybe the ECM or BCM thinks the car is being ripped off and shuts down the ignition system??????????? Plausable??????
Re: Stalling Problem....please help! (Mag Red Monster)
that could be possible, but if so, i dont understand why it would start back up with no problem. same thing with the ecm. youd figure it would have to be shook again to get a good connection before it would fire back up. stranger things have happened though. have him shake the computer by hand while its running.
