Default Diode Trick

Can someone (looking at Vader86) please tell me the steps for the 'diode trick' ?
this is for stopping code 32 when disabling the egr system.

I assume the code 32 is tossed after you are cruzin for a while; if so the ECM is not seeing the EGR switch after it calls for EGR.

If coolant temp stays below about 175deg F the ECM will NOT call for EGR while cruzin'.

Of course you can either use the diode or a relay to "fool" the ECM into thinking EGR is flowing when it calls for it.

Default I may sound stupid

New to Mods..... Whats the advantage of eliminating the EGR anyway?
Is it a HP issue or just not having to deal with it?

well actually... no, not anymore since the wire snapped off the egr switch. but i was reading vaders site and was concidering just pulling the whole system out along with the air pump. clean that engine bay right up

RetroTA, do a serch for Vader86 and go to his web page, everything is explained (barring diode trick...) it is a good and easy site to understand

Hmmm, well the EGR Temp Sw is the only feedback to the ECM; so, if it's not throwing a code with that switch out of commission, it won't throw one with all the EGR stuff removed w/o wiring in the diode.

Since the wires to the EGR Sol and from the EGR Temp Sw will be easily accessable after you remove the EGR parts, I'd suggest you wait to see how it goes.
