For the last month or so since I got my car running again (new injectors), I have noticed that the car doesn't have the zip it used to.
A while back someone on the Forum motioned that loss or reduced power could be contributed to clogged precats.
Has anyone had any experience with this?
I read somewhere that basically instead of replacing the precats you can disconnect them and ram a large screw driver in there braking it up therefore increasing the flow. Is this true?
Is the replacement for the combination pre-cat/cat a one piece larger cat?
If the old injectors were bad, it is possible that they sooted up the exhaust and clogged all the cats. If they are clogged, it'll run awful and lose alot of power.
You dont stick in a screwdriver, yank the pipe and cut out the cats and reweld it...or replace, since you have CA emissions. The car would pass a sniffer in 49 states without the precats, but I cant vouch for Cali.
You will want to upgrade the main cat to something like a Random Tech for additional flow.
This my first post, but I've been lurking for some time. I have a stock 91 coupe with 163k on it. Runs great but suffers from time and routine wear and tear. I've been evaluating various replacement parts for different systems on the car and found this on ebay. Just some info on the various options available.

That's a good example of what you can do. It's a plug and play solution that will keep your air system connected. Most Corvette suppliers have similar systems availible. Welcome aboard skipmeister!
