This is what initially worked for me making the rear come up before disassembly. Remove the seat pad so you can see the gear box and motors. There are 3 cables (in plastic) that spin like a speedometer cable. The middle cable is the one that moves the seat forward. Move the cable up, down or sideways. In each position hit the switch to move the seat forward. Possible one of the positions will catch the gears and you can get it to go forward. It’s the wiggle method, try different positions

That's some good welding & work pcColt. Thanks for the work there and the analysis.
At this point it doesn't look too hopeful for us mortals to simply repair and have work for a long time. ...but ya never know, someone might figure it out.
Great pictures. Thanks! It looks like a Sci-Fi movie out-take.
I have a question. Obviously it's age that causes this deterioration. My 92 only has 40K miles and has always been garaged. BUT... The Driver's side will not go front to back. Right now it's all the way back and I feel like a 10 year old trying to reach the pedals. Is there a quick-fix, one-time, way to move the seat forward so that (a)I can reach the pedals and (b) Buy time to deal this this problem later?...
Switch seats! the driver and passenger seats are the same . Now I have a problem with my passenger seat that will not go back and fort, only up and down .
