I have a 1968 BBC that I am converting to port fuel injection using a custom made plenum (because of hood clearance issues) on a Ramjet intake. I have purchased a bored TPI 52mm throttle body for use with this conversion which I believe has a later "progressive" linkage. I may have my terminology wrong but it has a cam that the cable rides in with a small hole at the end to accept the throttle cable. Throttle bracket has the number 83321 and 83322 on it, Rochester Products.
My question is this. Will a throttle cable bracket from any TPI corvette work for me? Also, are all TPI throttle cables the same?
When they went to a progressive throttle body they changed the end of the cable where it attaches to it, so you will need a newer cable. That should be a super ride when its done. Good luck with your project.
Im not sure what years, but I do know they changed the TB cable around 1990-91...my older 86 had the cables with metal tab with a hole at the end...youd slip them onto the TB and push a clip over it to hold into place.Didnt have the sliding feature the newer models had that youd slip the cable cam into a small hole to secure it.
That being said, the earlier TPI set ups didnt use the newer design.
Just dont know the exact years for sure, but wnated to point this out that the earlier units had a much different attachment.
85-88 used the same accelerator cable and mounting bracket.
89-91 used the same accelerator cable and mounting bracket.
91 was the last year for the L98/TPI.
The bracket also supports the cables for cruise control and the TV cable for the 700R4.

Thanks. I just ordered a 91 cable. Now all I have to hope for is that the cable length is good and will fit my accelerator pedal attachment! To all who responded, thanks again.
