2 things
Also cleaned out the throttble body AGAIN and it was sooo gunked up. I think that might be part of the idle problem but I am in there tryng to figure out whats going on. Havent got it off yet but I am workn on it.
Thanks to the people who helped me in the right direction especially CFI-EFI and RRT vette.2nd, I was out there cleaning the underhood and these jerks in a diesel truck, saw me down the road apparently and slowed down right in front of my driveway and revved the **** out of it and black smoke was everywhere. They kept saying stupid stuff like "lets race the ****box, and daddys bratt so I gave them
the bird and a few well chosen words and they kept threatening and cussing and carrying on so I eventually ignored them cuz traffic was coming up behind them and they had to move.
Yep the ****box is getting worked on....I dont know if my vette has the power to compete with that diesel. Big V8 and god knows what mods. Sounded beastly...20 yr old guys in the jacked up thing probably trying to show off.
I wouldve loved to smoke there @ss at a stoplight. Maybe one day soon....
Thought id share my experience with the lower class of the world. Thanks.
The dude in the truck is jealous and/or lacking cahounas, otherwise he wouldn't have messed with you unless you provoked him.
Im using the 25.00 dollar duralast brakes.Me provoke? Nope. Im nice unless you start stuff.
I thought you of all people wouldve realized im nice.
Those who help me, will get generosity in the future.
There are 4 bolts that hold the TB on the plenum. They are 10mm. Going from memory, take the air duct with MAF off the TB. Take the cruise control cable, accelerator cable, and TV cable loose from the linkage. There are small clips that hold them on and use a small flathead screwdriver to pry them off and don't drop them (easily lost). Remove the EECS vac line and coolant line from the right side of the TB. Some coolant will come out so have a rag handy.
Disconnect the IAC connector from the right side. Disconnect the TPS and becareful not to move this sensor any. If you plan on setting minimal idle it won't hurt because you will be adjusting it anyway. Then remove the 4 bolts holding the TB down. After there out, just pull the TB off. You may need a new TB gasket before installing the TB back on ($4 at a parts store).
After the TB is off unscrew the IAC. Use a old toothbrush and TB cleaner on everything dirty. A new IAC is $35 and it comes with a new gasket. If you do get a new IAC take the old one with you because they make three different types. For the high idle I would say either dirty/lazy IAC, TPS out of adjustment, dirty MAF, or vac leak.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Bracket Racing is against the clock, with heads up, it's first to the finish line, well bracket racing is also first to the finish line.
When it comes down to competition, first to cross the finish line usually wins.
You're right, that truck wouldn't do crap on a road course or autocross, and as you said, not all fast cars are cool, but the fact that they can whoop you in an apsect you are more than likely to encounter, it still gets my vote.
How about a low 10 second Civic that looks like crap? Beat me in a drag race, and quite possibly has the potential in an autocross as well. It's an ugly car, but performs well. When it comes to racing, it's function, then form.

. Don't stress about it.
I like cheap...
