I can figure this one out. my car is not flashing any codes. but when try to step on the gas my car will backfire and cary on bad. I can ease in to it and hold it about 1/2 throtle and smash it and it does not make any deference. I have changed my TPS sensor, IAC valve, my coil, plugs, wires, and cap. my car will not idle either unless I unplug my timing advance wire. if I do that it will idle all day long. could my ECU or prom be bad? or should I replace my EST and ESC sensor?
Re: has any one had this problem??? (corvette7591)
You might wanna make absolutely sure your plug wires are correct (ie firing order). If you get 5 and 7 mixed up it will run, but will pop and backfire w bad power (hmmm wonder how I know this :D )

Get your timing light out and be sure that the initial timing is set properly. With the timing light connected, suddenly open the throttle and see how far the timing is advanced.

Thanks for all the info guys. I got my timing light out and my initial timing is 6. but when I plug my timing advance wire back up, the mark jumps out of sight. I have checked my firing order at least ten times. I pulled the wires off and started over the last three times. I ordered fuel injectors from Summit today I wiil see what they do for me. my car has been runing VERY rich lately. if any one has any more ideas please let me know
Thanks!!!
