solid top versus glass top squeak
I finally had to install just my solid top, I had a squeak get louder and louder with the glass top at the left upper pillar post when the body flexed, I had put on the kit for the later tops with the stick on velcro type(1 side). Did I just get a bad fit with the glass top or what would cause the glass one to do this, inspected and couldn't see any major differences. Thanks for any input.

You could try having a local glass shop reglue it if it is loose. Mine had a slight squeek, I put grease on all the weather strips and adjusted the fit of the top by bolting it different. I think I tightened the rear bolts first, then shifted it around, and tightened the front bolts. I never remove it so it's been a long time.

Check your glass top for loose or misaligned mounting plates. On mine once I had it aligned properly and loctited in, it stopped sqeaking. I did put some of those little felt pads on the corners too.
