Default Hooker Headers

Im looking around at headers, has anyone had experience with hooker super comp's?
Will these bolt right on to me 96 lt4, and will emmissions be kept? http://www.holley.com/2151HKR.asp
Does anyone reccommend them?

Also, does the long tube keep the cats?

You can't use the stock cats with long tube headers. You'll have to go with a set of bullet cats.

I would get coated headers. Those 18 gauge painted headers will get hot as hell. If you have to pass emissions dual hi-flow cats with a custom y would work well.

I have a set on my 87 and I love 'em...the cats had to go....mine came from Summit and at the time coated headers were the only ones available.....the 87 has one O2s on the left bank..the headers came with one bung in the #7 cyl tube....I welded another bung in the collector and use a heated O2s so it reads the whole left side of the engine instead of just one cylinder . Install was easy from under the car and they have BIG tubes @ 1 3/4" . I had a custom dual 2 1/2" exhaust made with Flowmaster 50 series mufflers.....I don't have testing here so cats weren't considered.. ENJOY

Well I have a 96, and I dont think there is a y. I would def. get the ceramic coated ones, I was looking at these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/84-96...QQcmdZViewItem

So all I need is bullet cats (or no cats), but all other emmission stuff will bolt on and not be effected?

I have an '89 so I have y-pipe on the brain. Yeah, those are the right ones for the air hookups. I guess you could duals with or without cats.

you should check with the LT1, LT4 crowd to see if there are spark plug clearance issues and what to do about the air pump hook up and relocating the o2 sensors.

I see alot of LTx cars using the tpis headers or the exotic muscle units.

If it has an AIR pump like I think it does, you are going to have to mock up an AIR tube fitting on each header, like I did. If you buy ceramic and do this, you are going to have to get them coated again. I painted mine and will check the temperatures against the ceramic coated shorties I have on now, once installed. The hole front half of the exhaust will have to be modified for LT's to work on an LT1/4. I have the 02 bung welded and will put them in the collectors.

The C1180 looks like it'll bolt right up. You will still need exhaust (and cats). Those are nice looking headers. Looks like an excellent choice.
