What is the torque value (87 year) for the rear support rod at the camber bolt? Shop manuals (GM and Haynes) have different values. Range is 46 to 184 ft lbs. Could 184 ft lbs be right? Other end of rod is 107 ft lbs, why not the same on each end. Bracket seems weak for that much load (184). Any input appreciated.
Also, O2 sensor pigtail retainer came loose and I cannot find the place it connects to. It is a plastic pin that plugs in somewhere to keep wire from exhaust pipe? Thanks
If you mean the cam bolt that is used to adjust the camber, per my 90 manual it is 187 ft-lb. The bolts that hold the bracket to the carrier have a torque value of 60 ft-lb.
Don't forget, that cam bolt and nut have to hold the alignment of the car once tightened.
Appreciate the response from everyone. I did not think about the cam bolt being adjustable and needing more torque than the other end. Thanks for the info. FYI...........there is a big error in the manual (86), in one section the narrative has 46 ft lbs noted for the cam bolt.
does anyone have the adj. struts , seems like a better setup than the cam setup , gonna get alignment (new tires) want to make sure they work as advertised??
