Default valve springs

putting a new set of valve springs on while I'm replacing valve seals on my 86, the ones I ordered are oem from gm, but they don't have that inner coil like the ones I'm replacing. does it make a difference ?

Rich, it doesn't matter as long as they are cheap! (inside joke)

Seriously though, did you get the LT4 springs that everyone seems to reccomend?

If they are the same spring, pull out the damper springs and put them into your new springs.

Rich, you are using the 1.6 rockers right? Is there a coil bind issue using the stock springs with those? Just thought I would bring that up before you get too involved in the project.

Most recommend a stronger spring when going to 1.6 RR. On my stocker I'm going to use new LT4 springs. They are 101# as opposed to about 85# on the stock springs IIRC.
