Default No Mufflers

1986 Vette

The PO removed the stock mufflers and replaced them with what appears to be just pipe.

The sound is not bad and not too loud, but I would like a little deeper tone to the exhaust.

It still has the stock pre-cats and a newer cat I think.

Leaving the rest of the stock exhaust in place, would adding flow masters deepen the exhaust tone or would that tame it down too much ?

THanks

Well I had 40 series flowmasters and went to straight pipe...The difference is night and day. the straight pipe is 100% better. The sound is amazing compared to the flows. The so called "chokemaster" is really tame. I actually do think they hurt performance too. Now my set-up is hooker long tubes w/ true duals and the muffler eliminators. The sound is well........ Since then I did a ZZ4 cam and heads and it sounds even more badass! Trust me....do not do the flowmasters. If you want a muffler though, go with the magnaflows from corvette central
