Sorry I dont have a digital camera right now,
but I do have a great description.
Next to spark plug on cylinder #8 just
to the right of the plug there is a sensor
on the head. It appears to be a screw in
type sensor with a plug in connection
and one red wire and one green wire
coming off of it. Any help is appreciated.

I would think it would be the knock sensor. I beleive coolant is between 5 and 7 on left side. 8 is on the right (passenger) side

The reason I ask is that I noticed the
red wire broken. Car does not throw any
codes though.

The service manual shows it to be a coolant senser but not what it controls. The knock sensors are in the coolant drains in the middle lower of both sides of the block.

Coolant temp sensor, Thanks.
Now I have to buy a new connector
since the red wire is broke right at
inlet. Gotta find where to splice
into the red wire, only see the
green wire going into a wire shield,
pulled back the shield and no red wire.

that sensor only feeds data to the analog gauge.

the knock sensor is low-down on the block.

Knock sensors near the bottom of the block near the oil pan rail.
91 earlier blocks is a one wire temp sensor on the passenger cylinder head, between cylinders 6-8.
92 up blocks there is a two wire sensor connector for engine coolant temperature, between cylinders 6-8.
I had book 1, in the house, of a 93 manual and the wiring diagrams showed this.
I can go to the shop tomorrow and get the 92 books if necessary.

Just to verify, that sensor does not send
a signal to the ecm?

THat sensor goes to the analog gage in the cluster.
The ECM sensor is located at the water pump.

Help me to understand

My1992 LT1 / 6 speed has the sensor with only one "Bluish/green" wire at this location , I do not see any other red wire broken in the harness.
Everything works fine on my car , Wonder why you have two wires on your sensor?

Anyone else with one wire?

Maybe its ok then. It looked like a
piece of red wire was broken off
right at the connector. I need to
get a FSM. Thanks for the tips.
