front bumper paint question
I was wanting to just make it look a little better for a few years.
I want to get the whole car painted after my daughter gets out of school. So I was wandering if i could have the front and top painted without removing the bumper to save some cash ?
I go to local cruise ins and to some corvette shows but,I'm not looking for wins, i just like hanging out with friends.
So my question is can the bumper be painted on the car or dose it need to come off to paint it?
Thanks
Scott
where are you and how much did they quote you. and what color is it.
what are they going to do, fill the chips with putty, or primer, or feather edge them out completely then prime it? find out what brand of paint they use and if they use flex in the clear. we use flex in the primer also when its on a front bumper.
Both shops I got quotes from were hi-end shops ( at least I think they do good work) they both quoted the same price, around $1250.00 they both said they would use flex primer . i dont know about the clear.
neither shop was willing to paint it without removing the bumper.
My car is dark red and it would be hard to match.
I was just wanting to get it to look a little less crapy... but i think it was painted in the front before , without using the flexible paint.
Thanks for answering me i thought i posted this in general disc. it took me 1/2 an hour to find it.
