Default Fuel Tank Sending Unit

Anyone have a good source for a fuel tank sending unit for an '88 coupe?

I tried Ecklers, MAD, Rock Auto, NAPA, Corvette Central, Corvette America, Keen, Zip and the only one I could find was Davies in Florida. Anyone have any experience with these guys?

That thing is such a POS but yet costs $400! I hope you can find an inexpensive replacement.

Are you talking about the float/sending unit that is mounted with the pump? If so, you can have mine, just pay for shipping. It's from a 84 and I replaced the complete fuel pump from a 91 model.

Default Thanks

The piece I am talking about is the entire assembly that the pump hangs from. The ground wire coming out of the resistor is fried and the only way to replace it is by getting a new sending unit. I have tried everywhere I can think of for a new one, but apperently, AC Delco stopped making them a couple months ago. I would love to get it repaired, but I have no idea how to do it myself because of the sealed resistor and I don't know who could.

If anyone knows someone who can fix mine, I would love to know.

I will give vette2vette a call tomorrow and see if they can help me. I got negative replies from about 3 corvette salvage places today. Better luck tomorrow I hope.

No go on the Auto Parts Warehouse. I am not even having any luck finding a used one let alone a new one.

Have you tried Contemporary Corvette (link on my site) for a used unit?

Also check out C4 Parts For Sale in case someone is parting out his L98 Vette.

I bought mine from the internet auction site for 40 bucks. I have seen them for as little as 25 to as high as 125.
