I busted the spider gears in my Dana 36 with cheater slicks, still managed a 12.77 with a 1.7 60 ft.
I cut the stock towers completely off,,,,, and bought some 1018 CRS, 1/4" thick and made my own towers,, I'll post pics next weekend when they are welded on.

The 85 stock towers are not even close to a QA1 coil, which is 3.563 wide. My new towers will be thicker than the 1996 steel towers that are 5/32" thick.

Very interesting read. I am considering putting coil overs on my 96. I am currently running the 115.5 Z51 spring (659 lbs/in), and I want to up the spring rate some, but I'm unsure of just how much spring rate I will need to not only match the Z51 spec, but increase it some as well.

I'm going with dual rate coil overs
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...hlight=hardbar

This allows for both a nice ride and good performance.

To have dual rate coil overs do you need special shocks? Will the coils work with most shocks? QA1 adjustables?

Thanks
